our story
Abe’s didn’t start with us. The name came from the previous owners, whose last name was Abriani. When we first met them, they shared the story behind it; their grandfather grew up in the small village of Abriani near Vicenza, Italy. Years later, he moved to Indiana and opened a restaurant that carried the family name, Abriani’s, which locals eventually shortened to Abe’s.
When we heard that, it stopped us in our tracks. Vicenza was our favorite duty stations. One of those places that sticks with you long after you leave. It felt a little like kismet, and in military life, you learn to pay attention to those moments.
So the name stayed, because some stories are worth continuing.
While Tumwater is home for our family, we felt the pull to serve on JBLM, because we understand what it means to build your life around orders that aren’t always yours.
Our kids work the truck. We employ military spouses. We remember your usual. We will absolutely listen while you vent about TRICARE, on-base housing, or PCS struggles.
We’re not here to fix everything, but we can hand you a hot breakfast, call you by name, and remind you someone here cares.
our food
We cook from scratch because it matters. No frozen egg patties. We crack eggs. We brine chicken. We build sauces in-house. We cook it when you order it. It tastes better,
it feels better, and it reflects the pride we take in serving this community. We’re not your average food truck, and we’re perfectly fine with that.
Get in touch.
We serve JBLM exclusively, which means we understand how events here actually work.
Change of command.
Retirements.
Deployment send-offs.
Company breakfasts.
FRG gatherings.
Or the “we need to feed everyone tomorrow” kind of event.
We know the rhythm of base life. Timelines that shift, headcounts that grow overnight, and soldiers coming off a 12-mile ruck who are very ready to eat. Whether you're feeding a small team or a few hundred people, we’ll work with you to build something that fits your event, your timeline, and your budget.
We don’t run off a fixed catering menu. Every event is a little different, and we’d rather talk through what you need and put together something that works for your group.
